{"id":15,"date":"2014-03-23T19:10:38","date_gmt":"2014-03-23T19:10:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.willdick.com\/?page_id=15"},"modified":"2021-03-24T15:32:09","modified_gmt":"2021-03-24T15:32:09","slug":"will-dick","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.willdick.com\/?page_id=15","title":{"rendered":"About"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Will Dick is a guitarist, singer, songwriter, and educator who lives with his wife Sandra Mueller Dick in Brookline, MA.\u00a0 His performing experience ranges from rock to classical music, with a number of styles in between.\u00a0 He was lead guitarist in The Bead Game, a progressive rock band whose drummer, Jimmy Hodder, became a founding member of Steely Dan.\u00a0 With guitarist\/singer Arthur Brisbane, Will performed popular, folk, and original music, touring extensively throughout the eastern U.S. in the duo known as Brisbane and Dick.\u00a0 Will has performed solo at King\u2019s Chapel (Boston), Sanders Theater (Cambridge), and in duet with Josiah Spaulding at the Wang Theater (Boston) in a program with Noel Paul Stookey of Peter, Paul, and Mary.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Will served as a faculty member of St. Paul\u2019s School (Concord, NH), Dedham (MA) Country Day School, Winsor School (Boston), and Pine Manor College (Chestnut Hill, MA).\u00a0 But it was at Brookline Music School where Will found his true calling as an educator and where he established his reputation.\u00a0 He served for many years in numerous capacities\u2014as a teacher, guitar department chair, faculty committee chair, and board member.\u00a0 A community school, BMS was a perfect fit for Will, as he loved working with students of all ages, levels, backgrounds, and musical interests.\u00a0 Recently retired from BMS, Will now teaches privately, and continues to be stimulated by the fact that no two students are ever alike!\u00a0 While at BMS, Will performed many times\u2014solo, with faculty, and with students.\u00a0 He was honored to perform his own composition with former BMS Director and recorder virtuoso Lawrence Zukof at the inaugural concert of the school\u2019s permanent home, Kennard House.
