The Tide Is Turning is Will Dick’s latest album. Like his previous release Ghosts In The Cove, it presents original songs dealing with matters of the heart, spirit, and experience. Rock, folk, and country come together here in a consistently warm presentation. Producer Brendan Burns has captured the essence of Will Dick–the expressiveness of his voice, guitar, words, and music, all of which have a timeless quality.
Brendan and his guitar spearhead a first-rate accompanying band, including Derek Van Wormer on bass and Chris Anderson on drums. Additional musicians include Will’s daughter Alexandra Dick on background vocals, Tony Leva on acoustic bass, and Ariel Bernstein on percussion.
The Tide Is Turning was recorded in 2013 at Dimension Sound, Jamaica Plain, MA, with Dan Cardinal as engineer. Additional recording, mixing, and mastering was done by Ariel Bernstein in Medford, MA.
The warm, yet searching quality of The Tide Is Turning is beautifully represented by the evocative cover art: a detail of Landscapes Of The Mind, by artist Sandra Mueller-Dick, who also happens to be Will’s wife!
